Cambodia: Been to heaven and back!!!
As explained by Chinese-speaking guide, Mr Zhang, the Angkor Wat is made up of 3 levels. These are the Hell, the Earth and the Heaven. We made the climb up the Heaven scarily and were overwhelmed by the views atop the building.
Making this wonderful with me were my new found travelling buddies, in fact, they are my female colleagues. Making the team are SS (Sze Sze), KC (Kam Chee), JL (June Lim) and SP (Seok Ping).
As it is with any other travel, you tend to include ‘
SHOPPING‘ as part of your intenerary. And you bet that we have a feverish shopping experience not only in Siem Reap but also Phnom Penh… The ladies did also find some time to tend to their nails: savouring themselves doing manicure and pedicure while I wondered from stores to stores waiting for the perfectly satisfied customers to emerge from the saloon with yet another victorious capture. The Russian Market is the best of them all, even I join in the fun of bargaining.Riverfront is a beautiful place to be when the evening comes. As it gets dark, the crowd and the river breeze from the Tonle Sap Lake make it all too irresistable to be there. At the same time, shops, guesthouses and restaurants light up the place. We had our dinner at Happy Herbs Restaurant on Lonely Planet (LP) recommendation and ordered two medium size pizzas with special toppings, one medium happy and the other very happy
. In the end, we got too hyped up to get on with the intended after dinner walk along the riverfront. We ended with in our hotel rooms at about 8:40pm, unwashed and slept through the night till the next morning, with some so-called ‘happy‘ feeling indeed.
